Crossrail 2 is a new proposed major railway linking the national rail networks in Surrey and Hertfordshire via an underground tunnel through London. The new railway would stop at key locations throughout the city centre, including Tottenham Court Road, Euston St. Pancras, Victoria, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon.
A public consultation on more detailed plans concluded in mid 2017 and the business case for Crossrail 2 is now with the Transport Secretary for consideration. Transport for London, who are the body promoting the scheme have advised Kinney Green that they remain committed to consulting on further revised proposals and are aiming to submit a Hybrid Bill in this Parliament.
The processional department has a proven track record of advising businesses on Compulsory Purchase Orders and have already provided initial advice to a large number of businesses on the Weir Road Industrial Estate in Wimbledon, a site earmarked by Transport for London as a Crossrail 2 depot site.
Recent experience advising effected businesses on The London 2012 Olympics’ scheme and most recently on the High Speed 2 (HS2) rail scheme has allowed the professional team to keep up to date with both recent legislative changes and recent compulsory purchase case law, both of which shape and set the parameters for Compulsory Purchase and Compensation advice.
